USA Yoga is a non-profit organization committed to developing and promoting Yoga Sport.

USA Yoga, an independent member of the International Yoga Sport Federation, is a membership-based organization led by a volunteer board of directors.

USA Yoga offers educational programs, training for judges and yoga sport coaches, qualifier events leading to the US National Yoga Sport Championship where medalists qualify for the International Yoga Asana Cup.

The rules for championship competition are developed and reviewed by expert teachers and coaches from around the world who serve on the IYSF Technical Committee. The rules are designed to reward competitors for technique and presentation. Successful competitors achieve mastery of physical strength, stamina, balance, flexibility, breath and concentration. Qualifiers are open to yoga practitioners from any yoga school or lineage.  All are encouraged to participate. The paths are many, the sport is one.

Your participation as an athlete, coach, judge, audience member or donor inspires others to practice yoga. With your involvement, you show that Yoga Asana is beneficial for the physical and mental health of all practitioners - children, teens, adults and seniors. You know that Yoga Asana will encourage existing practitioners to sharpen their skills through training, dedication, and devotion to the sport, and will inspire new practitioners to begin a practice which leads to a healthier and happier life. Thank you!

    The Classical and Complete 84

with Jordan Lydia, 2025 International Bronze Medalist

    What is the 84?

Straight from the Bishnu Ghosh lineage, The 84 is the original advanced series that inspired the 26&2 sequence (popularized by Bikram). Sometimes referred to as the “Complete Series,” this class explores a powerful range of movement, expression, and breath-based discipline — all while maintaining deep roots in therapeutic technique and alignment.

    This class includes:

    • Salutes and standing balances
    • Deep twists, splits, and leg-over-head postures
    • Arm balances, lotus party, and nauli (yogic abdominal work)
    • Inversions: headstands, shoulderstands and handstands
    • Dialogue-driven cues and modern therapeutic structure
    • A blend of tradition, alignment, strength, and flow

    Meet Your Teacher: Jordan Lydia

Jordan Lydia is a devoted Ghosh lineage teacher and a USA Yoga athlete since 2013. She has taught the 84 since 2017. Her practice has helped her heal scoliosis, navigate depression and anxiety, and unlock full-body mobility through disciplined, therapeutic movement. This April, she won a Bronze Medal at the International Yogasana Championships in Malaysia and in 2024 won a Silver Medal at the US National Championship. She has studied under Kim Tang, Esak Garcia and Whitney McCormick and mentored teachers nationwide in the art of leading the 84. She has trained in yin yoga, yoga nidra and energetic healing. Jordan's classes blend precision, presence, and purpose--inviting every student to practice with heart and curiosity.
